“My first model was a 1/72nd RA-5C Vigilante (a Hasegawa kit, I think) that my dad bought me when I was probably 6 (that would be 1970). That hooked me on building models all through my younger years. Cars, women, and the Marines (in that order) took over my teens to early 30’s. Once I got out of the Marines in 1995, I got back into modeling very seriously. I build mainly 1/48th USMC aircraft (but I have a little bit of every service branch in the stash), with some armor, motorcycles, ships, and cars thrown in. My stash is currently at about 90 (right now), and that’s about all that I have room for. With my eyesight getting worse, I’m starting to gravitate towards 1/32nd-scale aircraft now.
I currently live in Lancaster, SC, with my wife of 12 years. We have three boys (all grown up and married), & 6 grandchildren. I work for a company called Elekta, Inc. (http://www.elekta.com), performing maintenance on linear accelerators. This job keeps me on the road quite a bit, so I don’t get to model as much as I’d like.”
